The U.S. Virgins Islands are America’s own Caribbean paradise, located 1,100 southeast of Miami. St. Croix is the largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands at 84 square miles, and a population of just over 53,000 people. It’s wondrous landscapes, hilltop views, ocean vistas, and downtown areas tell a story of an island rich in culture and history, where the influence from Denmark is evident in the architecture and windmills.
There are two distinct towns to visit on the island, Christiansted and Frederiksted. The architectural quality and historical interest of the one-time Danish West Indies capital has made part of Christiansted a National Historical Site.
As with its sister island St. Thomas, St Croix’s climate is perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities, with mid 80’s F. in the day, and 70’s at night. It is a diver’s paradise, where Wreck Dives abound.
