Volunteer Programs Africa

VA32 have been placing international volunteers in high need community, education and conservation programs on the wild coast of South Africa since 2004

A) African Angels – The Tracy King Creche & Orphanage Project

Tracy King is an inspirational leader. Every day, Tracy has 35 pre-school and 5 home school kids, 5 teachers, 4 teachers’ aids, and numerous visitors at school, IN HER HOUSE! Every room bar the master bedroom is a classroom. Tracy and her team work with orphaned and vulnerable children, so that these ‘angels’ can fight their way out of poverty through education.

Tracy says “I open the door first thing and sometimes find an abandoned newborn on my doorstep. Teen mums – and pre-teens – know I can’t turn those kids away.”

She also says, “I am desperate for funds to help these kids”

Tracy’s vision is to build classrooms, and a permanent crèche, in her garden. Help us make Tracy’s dream a reality.

HOW? Booking any Lifetime Experience™ package generates revenues for Tracy’s mission, as all our Foundations net revenues are shared equally by our two African Angels beneficiaries. You can also donate at Simon – link

B) African Angels – Volunteer Africa’s Wild Coast Community Schools’ Project.

Volunteer Africa 32 Degrees South (VA 32) was formed in 2005 to address three key areas of need in the southern ‘Wild Coast’ of Eastern Cape, namely education, conservation and social issues. Mike Denison is the driving force behind this initiative.

Through the use of foreign volunteers on organized and structured education programs, VA 32 develops ICT (Information Computer Technologies) labs, teaching resources, provides daily ICT training to school learners, and runs free adult literacy classes.

VA 32 welcomes volunteers from around the world, This hugely rewarding project will appeal to gap year students, philanthropy volunteers, Christian Athletes, Rotarians, volunteer activists and Pre- and Post Safari clients

VA 32 encourages a minimum 6-8 week stay in and around Chintsa, to ensure maximum mutual benefit to both volunteers, and local school kids and their communities. VA 32 provides a structured, adult supervised, volunteer experience

The first week includes orientation on the first three days on arrival. Topics covered during this time include: An historical overview of South Africa and its socio-political developments; understanding apartheid; insights into rural South Africa and the Xhosa culture – a 2 day cultural adventure and village stay; exploration of the eco-system; beach time; multiple local activities.

VA 32’s sister company African Heartland Journeys has a travel center to assist volunteers with all aspects of planning, organizing and booking activities and weekends away. There is a local surf school, horse riding on the beach, a Big Five Game Reserve, mountain bike trails, and many more exciting opportunities in the area.
