    • "Atlanta United!!!!"
One of my favorite Planet Money episodes taught me that Mercedes-Benz Stadium has the cheapest food out of any NFL stadium in the country. Since I live in California, I filed that information as a fun fact in the back of my brain, thinking that I'd never get to experience it for myself. As it turns out, we lucked out and received free tickets to the MLS Cup, which happened to take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium during our short two-day stay in Atlanta. The stadium is brand new and holds over 70,000 fans. I was wowed by its scale and how modern it is. Getting inside was quick with the dozens of security lines and the automated ticket scanner gates. Escalators took us up to the nosebleeds, where our free seats were located. Atlanta United and Portland Timbers were competing for the championship. Since we are not from Atlanta or Portland, we really didn't care about the outcome of the game. I was just excited for the game to start to feel the energy in the stadium and to be able to slip away to check out the concessions when the lines were shorter. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. We had local Delia's Chicken Sausage and some Pulled Pork Brisket. I also enjoyed a scoop of Bruster's Ice Cream. The mixed drinks are a bit weak so stick with beer. In the end, Atlanta United won the MLS Cup 2-0. We left the stadium before the trophy was awarded and were able to get into an Uber relatively easily.
