Only 10 minutes walk from the oldest part of town and right next to attractions like “The Pearl”, “Kjarvalsstadir” Art Museum on “Klambratun”, “Kringlan” Shopping Mall, “Hofai House” (where Reagan and Gorbachov
met in 1986), “Hallgrimskirkja” and “Hateigskirkja” two of Reykjavik’s best known churches and much more. Of course, Iceland is one of the best places in the world to see the Aurora Borealis, (Northern Lights), that natural phenomenon that paints the northern night sky with surreal, unearthly color. In the most intense Northern Lights areas, including Iceland, the lights are best observed from late August to mid – April. However, from late September to late March one enjoys the best opportunity, due to the spring and fall equinoxes.
