Rabat, Malta
We offer our fantastic and historic 400 year old Maltese-Sicilian style character house in the serene, Medival quarters of Rabat, a World Heritage Site. Malta is a nation known for historic sites related to a succession of rulers including the Romans, Moors, Knights of St. John, French and British. It has numerous fortresses, megalithic temples and the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum, a subterranean complex of halls and burial chambers dating to 3600 B.C.E.
Located just 5 min walk from the medieval walled city of Mdina & just 3 min from bakery, butcher shop, grocery stores, open air markets & many restaurants/wine bars. This well kept property features a welcoming central courtyard (private, cozy & ideal for entertaining or for that romantic candle lit dinner or BBQ). There is a well-equipped kitchen, dining room (sits 6) & a sitting room (on 1st level); the 3 bedrooms are situated on the 2nd floor.
Megaliths, medieval dungeons and Calypso’s Cave – The Maltese Islands are positively mythic. The narrow meandering streets of their towns and villages lead to the main square, which is invariably dominated by the huge baroque church. As the countryside is dotted with medieval towers, wayside chapels and the oldest known human structures in the world, the Islands have rightly been described as an open-air museum.
The Maltese archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the Mediterranean, 93 km south of Sicily and 288 km north of Africa. The archipelago consists of three islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino with a total population of over 400,000 inhabitants occupying an area of 316 square kilometers.
